The word Yoga means the bending of our body and controlling our body based on our heart. Maharishi Patanjali (Father of Yoga) and Thirumoolar (Father of Therapeutic Yoga), both Indian saints, lived beyond 3000 years. By a scientific way, the sutras of yoga were explained both by voice and scripts today. These sutras of yoga indicate about the life in eight steps and directions. Patanjali yoga is called as “ChithaVirathiNirodhah” which means the way of controlling our thoughts. This was explained by our South India Siddhar Thirumoolar as a good solution. And also, his philosophy “AnbaeSivam” became popular which means showing mercy to all. At the young age, Thirumoolar lived in North India and found that yoga can cure all types of diseases. Then he spread his research in South India. Though the founders of Yoga, Patanjali and Thirumoolar lived to old age, their researches about yoga were explained through paintings, stone scripts, etc. These are the proofs that they practis...

In 483 A.D, he was buried at the Shaoling temple. The Japanese learnt Kungfu from China and transformed it to Karate in Okinawa island in Japan. The elements of Karate were incorporated in Chinese martial arts and as a result Taekwondo was developed in Korea. Martial arts originated in Asia as well as Europe are direct or indirect descendants of Varma Kalai.

Origins:  Oral folklore traces silambam back several thousand years to the siddhar (enlightened sage) Agastya. While on his way to Vellimalai, Agastya discussed Hindu philosophy with an old man he met who said to be the god Murugan in disguise. The old man taught him of kundalini yoga and how to focus prana through the body's nadi (channels). Agastya practiced this method of meditation and eventually compiled three texts on palm leaves based on the god's teachings. One of these texts was the Kampu Sutra (Staff Classic) which was said to record advanced fighting theories in verse. These poems and the art they described were allegedly passed on to other siddha of the Agastmuniakhara (Agastya school) and eventually formed the basis of silambam, siddha medicine, and the southern style of kalaripayat.
